CHURCH AND SCHOOL HAMPERS PROGRAM

The Christmas Hamper Program at Beautiful Savior has evolved from a few hampers at Christmas to a partnership with Beautiful Savior Lutheran School, the employees of a private company, and the Christmas Cheer Board of Greater Winnipeg.

The partnership has allowed us to reach out to over 1,000 people during the Christmas Season and numerous people in need throughout the year.

A hamper committee representing the church, school and the corporate sponsor meets in early November to establishes goals, develop the logistics and assign various responsibilities. It is only through the support and personal commitment of all, that an undertaking of this magnitude can be successful.

The students from Beautiful Savior Lutheran School first become involved with the wrapping of the many children's gifts, in the days preceding the hamper building. The food for the hampers is ordered and delivered directly to the school gymnasium, where the students, staff, church volunteers and corporate supporters build hampers and organize for their delivery.

It is safe to say, the spirit of Christmas is everywhere, it truly is, the most joyous time of the year.

The opportunity to share with those less fortunate, is in itself most rewarding.
